John & Serena

John and Serena met in Florence in ‘85 when John was studying for his Masters degree. After they spent a brief spell working in Switzerland, Sery came to Scotland after she was introduced to the illustrations Carnethy hill running crew at the Hodgeson relays in the Lakes. Sery complete her Communications degree at Edinburgh and seven years later they found themselves in Mull where John took up post at Tobermory High school. Mull has since grown to be a special place for both John and Sery. A place where they can enjoy and share their passion for the outdoors.

The last four years has seen them developing their Italian restaurant, Mediterranea, in Salen along with Serys mum who is an outstanding cook. Mediterranea has built a unique reputation not only amongst visitors but also with local people who have given tremendous support.

Since August ‘05 things have taken another turn with the arrival of Samuele. Samu has been a magical delight and along with Storm (the Mull meandering collie) helps to make an incredible team.
